Our Story

I used to borrow clothes because I couldn’t afford my own. From second-hand markets to building a brand — Afritude is more than clothing. It’s African attitude

I didn’t start Afritude Apparel because it was trendy.

I started it because of where I come from.

Growing up, life wasn’t easy. I couldn’t afford my own clothes, so I wore what I could borrow from friends. Sometimes it fit, sometimes it didn’t—but I made it work. On better days, my brother and I would go to kuMupedzanhamo to buy second-hand clothes. That was our reality. No choices, just survival.

But even in that struggle, I had taste. I had vision.

I remember seeing Faith Wear and thinking, “One day…”

I admired it deeply—but it felt out of reach. Like something meant for a different life.

At the same time, there was something growing inside me.

I’ve always loved art. Creating. Designing. Seeing something in my mind and bringing it to life. I didn’t know it then, but that passion was planting a seed.

Afritude Apparel is that seed, now grown.

“Afritude” means African with Attitude—confidence, identity, pride, and resilience. It’s for people who come from something, who’ve had to make a plan out of nothing, who carry their story with boldness.

This brand is more than clothing.

It’s a statement.

From borrowed clothes…

To building my own brand.

This is Afritude
